Vestibular Neuronitis / Neuritis

What is Vestibular Neuritis?

Vestibular Neuritis is the second leading cause of Vertigo in the world, and often comes after a viral upper respiratory tract infection. You get sick, and suddenly experience feelings of dizziness and vertigo seemingly out of nowhere. Some individuals may suffer from Vestibular Neuritis for years. New research has suggested that Vestibular Neuritis is actually an autoimmune issue affecting one segment of the vestibular nerve, after the body fights a viral infection. To put it simply—your immune system may be attacking your vestibular nerve, which causes you to feel off balance and dizzy long after you’ve gotten over your cold or respiratory infection.

How Do We Treat Vestibular Neuritis?

At Gates Way to Health, we aim to treat your condition from its roots—in this case, the inflammation and autoimmune response affecting your vestibular nerve. We do this with a combination of anti-inflammatory diet plans, brain rehabilitation exercises, and nerve stimulation.  Dr. Randall Gates, D.C. Board Certified Chiropractic Neurologist, has dedicated years of research to develop a treatment plan for these chronic conditions that is medication free and focused on the overall wellbeing of his patients.
