Post Concussion Syndrome

PCS as it is termed is one of the more devastating neurological injuries not only because of the lingering neurological symptoms after a head injury but also due to the lack of accepted "gold standard" test for the condition. More specifically, patients who have brain injuries with persistent neurological symptoms often have either a CT or an MRI of the brain, and for most with PCS the testing is normal. However, PCS sufferers do not feel normal, so what's the explanation?

The answer is many, but the simple concept appears to be that there is persistent inflammation in the body. The brain injury for some appears to set into motion dysfunctional immunological and hormonal imbalances. Due to this, the brain never appears to have a chance to heal. Fortunately, researchers are finding more ways to objectively demonstrate neurological compromise after a head injury and we use this science at Gates Way To Health.
