Fibromyalgia and Brain Fog

What is Fibromyalgia?

Fibromyalgia is one of the most misunderstood conditions affecting a growing number of patients each year. As an invisible chronic condition, many Fibromyalgia sufferers are faced with accusations of faking it, or of it being “all in your head”.

Well…so what if it is “all in your head”?

Your head houses your brain, which is the control center of your entire body. So, if you are experiencing searing, disorienting pain in your head that spreads throughout your body…then that is a real problem! Just because your pain is invisible does not mean that it isn’t real.  Furthermore, the tissue lesion so to speak is being uncovered…and it is neuropathy! Researchers are finding that upwards of 90% of fibromyalgia patients (the most recent study, others cite 32-50%) have nerve damage.  Fibromyalgia patients are often not tested for this.

Did you know that a large proportion of Fibromyalgia sufferers have Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis (wherein the immune system kills the thyroid) or that the prevalence of childhood trauma is about 40% in Fibromyalgia patients?  These staggering statistics bring validity and understanding to Fibromyalgia patients.

It is for this reason that Dr. Randall Gates, D.C. Board Certified Chiropractic Neurologist, is so passionate about treating Fibromyalgia. A misunderstood condition that has by and large been written off by modern medicine is just the puzzle he itches to solve.

What you need to know as a Fibromyalgia sufferer or as a loved one of someone with this condition, is that Fibromyalgia IS REAL. The pain is not in your head but the brain fog is associated with immunological imbalances which are affecting the brain. For more information on this condition, watch the videos below.
